For all lovers of alternative music, Częstochowa in July is a must-see destination. Every year, the Frytka Off festival gathers thousands of spectators who want to listen to good music, sing and dance together in front of the stage where the biggest stars of the alternative music scene in Poland will perform.
The history of Frytka Off dates back to 2011, when this event was organized for the first time. Why this name of the festival, you ask. It comes from the so-called Aleja Frytkowa, as Częstochowa residents called the street in the city center near the main railway station. At that time, there were many shops serving French fries there. This deep-fried snack is quick to prepare, cheap and tasty, so there were always a lot of customers on the street, especially young people, and some of the places serving fries were cult places that you had to visit every weekend. It was there that the first concert was organized. The event turned out to be a huge success, and the audience immediately fell in love with this unique festival.
Now this flagship outdoor event in Częstochowa no longer takes place on Frytkowa Street, but in Lisiniec Park. Among the green trees, next to the beach and the lake, the atmosphere of the concerts is even more holiday-like and favors fun in the open air. Of course, there are plenty of fries here. The concerts are always accompanied by a rally of food trucks that serve unique street food dishes, we especially recommend fries ;)
This year will be no different. There will be great concerts and delicious food. A real summer chill out.
On the French fry stage we will see representatives of many musical genres. There will be pop, including its alternative variety, blues, soul, hip-hop, classic heavy metal and guitar music. Details below. Feel invited.
PAULA ROMA >> is one of the most interesting figures of the young Polish music scene. She is clearly inspired by pop, alternative, blues and soul music.
O.S.T.R. >> is one of the most hard-working and successful artists in Poland. He has been consistently following his chosen artistic direction for over 20 years. He has achieved virtually everything on the Polish hip-hop scene.
Nocny Kochanek >> is musically classic heavy metal inspired by the giants of the genre, which can be heard at first glance... the ear. Lyrically, it is irreverent, humorous and distant from the world.
Sorry Boys >> is one of the most interesting bands on the Polish scene, which successfully combines pop compositions with alternative influences.
WaluśKraksaKryzys >> is the most famous debut of guitar music in recent years. In his texts, he uncompromisingly addresses the issue of mental health and the general condition of society among millennials and generation Z.
