20th Anniversary of the Monastery Market in Altötting

This year's 20th anniversary Klostermarkt will take place from Thursday, August 29 to Sunday, September 1, 2024 and, as every year, will bring together numerous monastic communities, monasteries and abbeys from Germany and abroad, who will present their best traditional products and products from the monastery workshops.

This year, the organizers expect representatives of 40 monasteries, religious communities, church organizations and, for the first time, a joint stand of the Shrines of Europe Association, where you will be able to learn more about the activities of our organization and try the best traditional products from our cities and regions. Sounds tempting, doesn't it?

The rich offer of Kloster Markt will certainly satisfy all lovers of traditional gastronomy. And it is not only about simple everyday dishes, but also about exquisite delicacies offered by exhibitors, such as liqueurs and spirits, or wine, which of course should be enjoyed in appropriate quantities.

Thanks to the Kloster Markt organization, the Baroque monastery market in Altötting has become known far beyond the borders of Germany and is visited by over 30,000 people every year.
During the market, numerous trade stands are set up around the Chapel of Grace, where monks present their products, which can be tasted and possibly purchased. The range of products offered during the three days of the fair includes products from monastery workshops, cellars, gardens, bakeries, herbal gardens and breweries of various monastic communities. The culinary offer ranges from monastery bread, jams, honey, wine, liqueurs to tasty monastery beer. The assortment is complemented by wooden toys, beeswax products, plants, CDs and books.

The event is complemented by an attractive accompanying programme. This year, in connection with the 20th anniversary of the establishment, visitors to the fair will be able to see, among other things, a special exhibition "20 years of the monastery market in Altötting", as well as take part in concerts and presentations.

Below we publish a detailed programme of the event and cordially invite you to meet us in this unique, picturesque Bavarian town, Altötting. Come, stroll around the market square in Altötting and let yourself be seduced by this unique event, taste the products that will allow you to absorb tradition and history with all your senses.
